DAVE BUSH - What the man???

Postby The Jury » Tue Jul 25, 2006 10:44 pm

Why did Bush pitch MR again? Man, I hope Milwaukee isn't being stupid and taking away one of my solid, middle of the rotation fantasy starters :~(

I am also frustrated by this :-t He is useless to me if he is going to be a middle reliever.

I can't think of a logical reason of why they brought him in either. Even with Ohka and Sheets back, there's nobody that is threatening Bush for his rotation spot. :-?

It's a too clever by half move like thinking Schill would make a great closer last year.
Chris Iannetta was born on Krypton and transported to Earth as an infant and saves the universe when he's not getting on base every plate appearance.

As I mentioned in the game commentary forum, Bush is still their 5th starter, but will occasionally make these middle relief appearances because of off days.

Tiki, I get your point, but you don't ordinarily see starters used this way. To me, it still begs the question, "WTF?"

Especially after the less than stellar results they got out of him last week when they did this

I don't really agree with it either, but the main advantage of it is to keep your 4 other pitchers on their normal throwing routines, and only 1 pitcher (Dave Bush) will be screwed up by the off days.
