1. He is indeed old for a player.
2. He has a reputation of burning out in AUgust (Torre would blow out his arm).
3. Yes, when he is not out of gas.
4. No he does not.

5. Rumors are running wild about a lot of players. The Phils might trade him. but someone has to close next season and they are not likely to find anyone bette ron the free agent market.
The Phillies as a whole aren't playing well but Gordon (along with Howard and Utley) has been among the team's brighter spots. So long as he's not overworked I see no reason to think he'll come crashing down. It's not like they have studs in that bullpen that are more deserving or capable?

Oh yea, my bad:
1. He is young
2. He would be a horrible setup many for a contender
3. His stuff is Nasty!
4. His contract is LONG with the Phillies.
5. Rumors? What rumors about an apparent trade
6. he is Really, REALLY Young.
Well, he is pretty old. And he has shown a real tendency to wear down the last couple years. So you're probably smart to be concerned. I'm wishing I'd been smart enough to deal him several weeks ago.
Questioning his stuff, though -- man, he wasn't doing it with mirrors the first couple months of the season. There was a period when his numbers were every bit as impressive as Ryan's and Papelbon's, and nobody was talking about him. We do "total bases allowed" in my league, and he had a K/TBA ratio like no one I'd ever seen. He made me feel smart drafting him for quite awhile.
But, again, if I actually WAS smart, I would have dealt him when he was rated top 2 or 3 overall...
