Money league payouts

10 team head to head. We only pay the regular season winner and the playoff winner. Sometimes it's the same person.

10 to 13 team points league (depends on who's willing to participate)

$60 entry fee (of which $10 is used to pay for tqstats.com)
$50 security deposit
$5 per free agent pickup (max of 5 per month, and you can only use 5 unique starting pitchers during any given week [exceptions are made for a mid-week injury])
$8 per trade

1st - 50% of the pot (usually ends up being $1000)
2nd - 30% of the pot (usually ends up being $600)
3rd - 20% of the pot (usually ends up being $400)
4th thru 8th - get their $50 security deposit back
9th - gets half of the their $50 security deposit back
10th - forfeits their $50 security deposit

Teams up ending spending between $100 and $225 throughout the course of the season.

Good stuff. Thanks to everyone for responding...I was really trying to get a feel for whether we were paying too few or too many. I really like some of the more atypical payouts...Loved the one where bottom two have to pay more! I love punishing poor performance.

In my only cash league (Football, but none the less).

Top 5 after playoffs get money and finishing #1 after the regular season gets a bonus.

isnt it hard to run down the 2 last place teams and collect money?

Here's the last one...
How bout someone takes the teams and enters them into a new league (seperate from our real league). We create a league email address to do this and each put in our "best" starting lineup before the start of the season. We then make the league a ROTO league and whoever places first at the end up the year makes $30. This would be very interesting and a great add on. It would give people an idea of who has had a great managerial season and what teams have or havent had injuries. I personally hope others like this thought.
