It's either his bruised fingertip keeping him out again or I just stumbled upon a rumor posted an hour or so ago in a D-Rays forum:

"Jays and Rays are very close to a deal that would send Lugo and McClung to the Jays for Rosario, League and Hattig."

Never know what is going on with Tampa Bay.

If Lugo does go to Toronto.....anyone have any insight on where he would bat in the order? Would Reed Johnson lose his spot at the top or would Lugo get plugged in at the back of the order?

With Lugo being more proven than Johnson and the fact they are trading for him, I would assume he would be batting leadoff with Rios following him, that would be a tenacious tandem at the top of a lineup for sure.

I wished they'd get off their butts and play, trade or DL him... That's a hole in my lineup and I don't know whether I need to get somebody to fill in or what?

From the D-Rays site:
ST. PETERSBURG -- While Julio Lugo is rumored to be heading elsewhere before the July 31 trade deadline, one thing was for certain Tuesday: the Rays shortstop wasn't in the starting lineup for the third consecutive day.

Lugo jammed the tip of his right middle finger Saturday while fielding a groundball before the game.

"I had a day off Sunday, Monday, I took batting practice and it got a little stiff," Lugo said. "We decided to give it a day to see how it feels and it feels fine. So now I'm playing [Wednesday], for sure. Feels so much better today."

X-rays taken of Lugo's finger were negative. He has employed a host of treatments that have included switching back and forth between ice and heat, and he's even had the finger massaged.

A finger massage? Give me a break. Sounds like he's available to pinch hit tonight.

Play him or trade him..

I saw on ESPN that the DRays are asking too much for him and he may go nowhere with Upton taking 3rd.

That's fine with me. I heard rumors from sportsline.com about

Lugo and McClung for League, Rosario, and someone else.

Sounds like a good deal for both teams. McClung and League are two young guys with great stuff, but little command. If I were Jays I would do anything to improve from McDonald. I know defense is underated but this guy sunks in offense.

For me, only move that would benefit Lugo is to go to the Jays. I'd rather him go there or no where. :-D
