Here' the first sig that I've done. It's actually the first time I've really ever used photoshop for anything other than cropping. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
That's amazing for a first sig. I don't even know what to suggest. You're already ready to get into brushes and stuff it looks like, so I guess for the next one I'd try out something like that.
not bad at all! very good first sig...i would make it wider though. it looks too small...if you make it 400 x 100, it'll show off your skill alot more! nice job though!
Wow, I dig the look man. I made a thread with a bunch of requests so if you want practice, feel free!

Thanks for the comments. I'll probably make another one pretty soon. I'll make it bigger and hopefully I'll be able to make a better background. It seems like the more you get the hang of it, the easier it gets. It was really frustrating in the beginning searching for how to extract, layer, resize, make a border, etc.
I also recently got a Nikon D50 so I'm also trying to use photoshop on pics I'm taking with that. Now I realize why people are so obsessed with the program.
For your next one I'd recommend not putting a stroke around the players at all. maybe put a drop shadow but I'm sure you'll end up progressing pretty fast
Sig is good, especially for a first. I think the sizing is great for that pic. If you have to make it 100 px tall then no need for the extra space horizontally unless you really need to add some detail.
But just to let you know, you never have this thing mastered, you can always get better, and there are always more things to try. Good luck with future sig-making. And you might want to check out some video tutorials I put together or this tuturial page I hope to update soon.
