I was hoping this guy would break out of his slump after the all star break, but he's only batted arond .200 with 4 hrs (take away the 3HR 7RBI game, and his game log just has tons of zeros on it)

when is this guy going to start hitting like a first rounder again??

i'd say hopefully next year, when you cant get him in the 6th round and he'll be back to the 50 HR range.

why next year and not later this year? if he needs to make a fundamental change in his approach/swing, why would it take a whole offseason to implement and not just some more BPs and hitting sessions?

What you see is what you get this year with Tex. Everytime he has a big game, people get excited, and then he follows it up with numerous games of pure garbage.

He's gonna be a .275, 20 HR, 90 RBI guy this year. I'm an owner, and it sucks, but that's the reality of it right now.

I still have SOME faith in him...there's still about 60 games left. Good hitters have been able to turn it around rather dramatically (Victor Martinez last year hit around .200 in the first half and about .350 after the all star break)

nah, i think he'll put together a solid 2nd half, on par with what we expected from him at the beginning of the season. i have too much faith in jaramillo as a hitting instructor, he knows what he's doing.

For those still with doubt that Mark Teixeria will have a huge second half you might want to jump on board.

1st Half 88 Gms 353 ABS .275 9 HR 49 RBI .353 OBP
2nd Half 21 Gms 75 ABs .333 9 HR 19 RBI .453 OBP

Teix is going to put up big numers, its very possible he will hit 30+ 100+ if he keeps this going, are those numbers down, no doubt, but he seems to have found his stroke that has alluded him most of the year.
