I'm not talking about trades you would have never considered, but trades that either you were inches away from hitting the accept button, or trades you offered that you suddenly realized your mistake, and hit the "Withdraw" button before the other side saw who you were offering.

Two that I almost made:

I offer Mike Mussina for Derek Turnbow (I hit the withdraw button)

I give David Ortiz for Tom Gordon and Colon or Gagne and Colon. (stopped short on hitting accept - this was obviously before Gagne's condition became known).

i don't have a trade i almost did but i have a trade i almost didn't do.
i traded derrick turnbow for putz and escobar on june 26. i was hesitant to do it becuase turnbow was looking like a bonified closer. :-o

since that date turnbow picked up 1 save and 4 loses, and also lost his closing job. ;-D

I almost traded away Mussina and Bonderman for AJ Burnett before the season started. :-o

Smaller scale in my NL-only, but I offered Freddy Sanchez for Jamey Wright before Wright started getting pounded. I also made numerous attempts to get Turnbow throughout the year.

I offered Ryan Howard for Morgan Ensberg at the end of April. Howard was hitting as low as 7th and Ensberg had just finished a ridiculous homer streak.

Amazingly and fortunately, the offer was rejected. :-o

I almost traded Wilkerson just before he went on his home run binge a couple of months ago. The funny thing is that I was offered Gomes and both these guys are now sitting on the league's FA list :-b

I had just completed a trade with a manager sending my Lidge and Capuano and recieving Zambrano. At the time I felt like I gave up a bit much, but I really wanted a stud starting pitcher to anchor my rotation.

In any case, after the trade went through the same manager sent me a proposal of his Sheffield and Marcus Giles for my Utley. I was sooooo close to accepting but managed to turn it down.
