Will Hermida live up to the hype in the 2nd half?

No he won't because there was WAAY too much hype to begin with. He still could put up some decent totals though, but it doesn't look like he's running that much.

ye of little faith. This kid averaged 29 SB/162 games the past 3 yrs in the minors. He has gone 2/3 in SB attempts since the all-star break. Hermida's OPS since the break is 1.075, and FLA is 11th in the league for SBs so they tend to run more than the average team. With a good average and good OBP hermida should see plenty of opportunities to steal. Granted the expectations may have been too high but i expect a solid second half from this kid...

I just dropped Griffey Jr. for him. I'm sick of looking at Griffey's .240 avg and .296 on base % and wondering everyday if he is even going to play. He was nothing more than my 4th OF'er with my OF being Beltran, Bay, Carlos Lee. I like Hermida to be solid the rest of the season.

Griffey isn't anything special anymore. He gets by on name value alone. If you look at his stats in the past month or so, he hasn't done squat and negatively affected my fantasy team's AVG, OBP, and OPS. With his main contributions being HR and RBI, I didn't need him considering my outfield situation. He only broke my lineup at UTL or if Beltran was out day to day for an injury.

I know, very young, but Bedard, Hamels, James, and Olsen were all plucked from WW, I was very lucky in my opinion. Bedard's rough patch of 3 or 4 starts made him WW material and I had no.1 waiver claim on Hamels. James and Olsen were added without constraint a while ago.

Closers, Papelbon, Carmona, K-Rod, Dempster, Pap and Carmona again plucked from WW.

I'd say no cause the Marlins are mishandling him in their every day line up. I really am not sure why they have him batting 6th, it really makes no sense. It doesn't use him effectively as the hitter he is right now at all. He is a guy that will hit for average, walk, and show some pop. So why would you have a guy with basically a .390 OBP at the end of the order? So the 7th, 8th, and pitcher can knock him in? I understand why they have Hanley at the front of the line up due to his speed, but Hermida needs to be right after him if they want their line up to be the most productive.

I would love it if they stuck him in the 2nd hole and just ran with it. He would first of all get much better pitches to hit and more FB's. Lately he has been running more and being higher in the line up I think would help him there to get more SB's. Last but not least he has the highest OBP besides Miggy, so why not ... it makes to much since not to.
