I did the exact same thing
Update courtesy of Rotowire, sounds like he is playing through pain and ideally would take a couple of weeks off:
Jul 28 It's unlikely Berkman (groin) will start any games this weekend, according to the Astros' official site. He made a pinch-hitting appearance Friday night, grounding out. "I think you're talking about a matter of days," Berkman said before Friday's game. "Day-to-day, probably."
Recommendation: Berkman realizes the Astros are in danger of falling out of the wild card race, and he's certainly not waiting to be perfectly healthy before he rejoins the lineup for good. "I'm not going to say I'm going to give it two weeks just to make sure it's healthy," he said. "As soon as I feel like I can be out there, I'm going to be out there. If it happens again, it happens again."
Is it time for playoff teams to move Berkman? For, say, Morneau or so in a package deal? Having him on the DL during the fantasy playoffs would be a disaster.
"Lance Berkman, who has been battling a left groin strain, joked before the game he was "totally unavailable unless I'm needed" Sunday and didn't play for the second straight day. Berkman had supposedly been "unavailable" Friday but was used as a late-inning pinch hitter with strict instructions not to run if he got a hit. Instead, he absent-mindedly began running after hitting a grounder and worsened the injury. He hopes the team's off day Monday will help him get back to playing regularly, possibly as early as Tuesday."
So what was the plan then? Let them throw him out at first if he ripped a double? Casually walk around the bases if he homered? Why bat a guy if he can't make the trip to first base....

Aug 2 ESPNews reports Houston Astros 1B Lance Berkman (groin) will not play until the Astros series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which begins Friday, Aug. 4.
This is starting to scare me. I got him just 3 weeks ago, and he's basically been injured the last 2 weeks.. He must be pretty sererely injured with this only to get a pinch AB here and there and not run the bases.. Does not sound good
