So I'm watchin my Sox go at it with the Jays tonight. But Toronto has Hendrickson, a lefty, going. So Grady little benches Ortiz, Nixon, and Damon. I know lefty vs lefty isnt a great matchup, but, seriously, do you think its really a good idea to bench THREE of your prominent hitters, including your speedy leadoff hitter, a guy who has 11 rbi in his last 5 games, two guys who have 20+ homers and one who is hitting .300? Even worse, they are replaced with Gabe Kapler, David McCarty, and Damian Jackson, all of whom are role players. Am I the only disagreeing with Grady Little on this one?

I agree with you, as well. Especially since Ortiz has been hitting the cover off the ball lately. I think playing matchups is good, but only to an extent. Messing around with hot players isn't a way to go, especially if you're gonna replace them with the aforementioned Kapler, McCarty, and Jackson.

I was going to blame that for the 7-1 deficit the sox were facing (I know it would be irrelevant but Im a sox fan, I get to be critical if I want to) but now I just turned it back to the game and see that the sox have closed it to 7-6! Grady either knows exactly whats he's doing or is one lucky southin bastid!

wow, then i turn it BACK and Suppan wiggles out of 1st and 2nd and no outs. WHAT A GAME! Not to mention the final round of the world series of poker AND the premier of playmakers are on/coming on. What a night of entertaining sports entertainment!
However, it looks like the difference right now is that hor$e$hit obstruction call on Nomar. That irritates me.
