I dropped him (for E Santana) due to his elbow pain statement. That worried me before he made the statement actually because our roster freezes at the end of August.

I added Brett Myers, who was inexplicably dropped during his leave of absence, when I put Escobar on the DL. I'll probably just waive Escobar or Vazquez when the time comes to make another move.

Call me an optimist idiot but the Angels are in a playoff race and should be for the next 2 months. I expect a good stretch run from Escobar.

I like Escobar a lot myself but any time a pitcher is pitching with pain there's always the chance they change their delivery to compensate. That can lead to further injury or to ineffectiveness and inconsistancy (a la Peavy this year). Pitchers pitching through pain are a VERY risky investment - and this is coming from a guy that owns Sheets in half his leagues (TRADING for him in 3 of them), Escobar in one and Peavy in a couple (one of them picking them up as a FA).

I'm not very optimistic.

While I do like Escobar some (and drafted him in a few leagues), he's had a history of injuries...and his K rate is down...and he couldn't beat KC the two times he faced him this year (yes due primarily to a lack of run support but still...gotta beat those Royals or you're gonna wind up on the waiver wire).

I dropped him last week for Gibbons. So naturally he has 2 of his best starts of the year. I'm still not too confident in him being healthy the rest of the year.

I picked him up in one league after someone dropped him when he went on the DL. I would definitely be looking to shop him around, especially after two good starts in a row as a selling point.
