I think things have gotten out of hand. I am not a Yankees fan, in fact, I enjoy cheering against anyone but the Yankees. (Go Athletics) However, I have had my fill of the collective wisdom that A-Rod is a waste of money, needs to get traded, or just outright sucks in the clutch.
A-Rod as of last week was leading the league in game winning RBI. More than David Ortiz in fact. Sounds pretty clutch to me.
A-Rod is on pace for his 9th straight season with 100+ RBI and 30+ HR. We're watching a future hall of famer play, and we all hate him because he gets paid well for it.
I think we need to take a day off from ripping him, and congratulate the guy for being the youngest ever to reach 450 HR. If you post in this thread I ask that you not be sarcastic or insulting. Just say something nice about this guy. He deserves it.
A-Rod deserves credit because he has never been allegated in any of the 'roid scandals. He's earned everything he has. A-Rod might not be the most charasmatic man, he plays for a team we hate, and he's fun to cheer against; but he's still pretty damn good. Honestly, I'd love to have the answer of the question "Who has hit the most career home runs" be: Hank Aaron, and if Bonds passes that, then A-Rod.
So lets take a day off. Please. I think people have taken the thrill of cheering against him too far. So Lets see some Yankee hating, A-Rod bashing people say a couple nice things about the guy.
