Anyone know how his return is going to impact the playing time of the rest of the Tigers, I.E. Thames and Granderson??

Depends on how he plays, but the only ones he'd effect is Shelton or Thames and trades are coming soon so it's hard to tell.

It's affecting Thames already because he's sitting down today and Young is in.

I think thats mostly because Thames has been cold lately. I benched him in the league I have him for that same reason. Wasn't a shocker to see they gave him a day to collect himself. I think it may effect Craig Monroe.

Young is a red hering -- they can cycle him in and out of lineup giving Monroe, Shelton and Thames some days off.

The real issue here is what if/when Soriano/Abreu and or any other superstar is acquired. You don't platoon those guys. Someone will lose their role.

Personally, I'd like to see Shelton go. He had one very hot month but is averaging 2.3 HRS A MONTH SINCE THEN. Those just aren't acceptable numbers from 1B.
