Is he hiding an injury? Any inside info. His BAA and WHIP are lower than last year. Except for the ARZ game, he's been pretty good.

If you take out the 6 run catastrophe vs ARZ his ERA would be 3.00
More in line with his 1.21 WHIP and .222 BAA

He still has 25 K to only 4 BB at Coors. Just like Lidge ARZ is his STL and CTracy is his Pujols.

Could I get a detailed explanation? injury, mechanics, unlucky? thanks.

I dont know whats wrong with him but he has been blowing hardcore lately. I know he is no stud but he has allowed runs in every one of his last outings. Im thinking about sitting him until he maybe gets it back together. Im just not sure that he will though.

I'm not going to panic sell ... he had a 2.7HRs/9 rate during he last month. That's a genuine fluke -- that's dramatically worse than Milton, for example. The fact that his WHIP and K rate are in line should give some solace. He just hung a few and with the CL inning sample size ot throws things out of whack.. Historically his HR/9 rate is less than half of that. Very respectable for a Coors hurler.

He's not anywhre near a Valverde, Turnbow meltdown. In those case all dominance indicators (WHIP, Ks etc...) just went to heck in a handbasket.

Just an unfortunate rough patch.

I've seen him have some bad luck lately (such as hitting 2 batters on 0-2 counts and allowing some soft hits). I think he'll right the ship soon, but the team isn't winning either so he isn't getting a lot of chances.

He pitched tonight in the eigth inning in order to keep the game 1 run for the Rocks. I think Hurdle still has pleanty of faith in him.

I agree that he's had some bad luck. I think he'll be fine. He's still a solid #2 RP. I'm gonna bench him this week, so I'm sure he'll have like 5 saves next week. :-o :-P
