1- is the Pitcher
2- Catcher
3- 1B
4- 2B
5- 3B
6- SS
7- LF
8- CF
9- RF
They do this so you could put the numbers on the scorecard instead of their names.

So then, I forgot to add, a 1-4-3 DP means it's probably a comebacker with the pitcher getting the ball and tossing it to the 2B who steps on the bag for the first out then throwing the ball to the 1B for the second out.

Lofunzo wrote:Yup. Hence the 1(P) - 4(2B) - 3(1B) DP. Wait until you see the 1-6-3 putout (for 1 out).

That would be a great play for the SS!
