it's a roto league, we can only make weekly lineup changes. the home run race is tight and i could easily move up two points in homers. i can't decide who to sit from these four: renteria, jeter, nick johnson, frank thomas.
Bench both your 1B's and start both your SS's....can't say that I would agree...
I would start Thomas and Jeter....

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
If homers are the most important thing, then you have to keep Thomas and Johnson in the lineup for sure, they have the most power.
So it comes down to Jeter or Renteria.
Jeter is playing 3 at home versus the White Sox (facing Loaiza, Colon, and Buerhle), then 3 in Boston.
Renteria has 3 at home versus the Cubs (facing Prior, Wood, and Zambrano), then 3 at Cincinnati.
That's a tough call, but I'll go with Renteria on a bit of a hunch.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
If you want power, like it was previously stated, Thomas and Johnson are your guys. I think Jeter/Renteria are really close, but I would have trouble benching Jeter. He is too solid of a player in too solid of a lineup. And even though practically the same can be said of Renteria, with the weaker pitching in the AL I think Jeter is your guy.
What I wonder is what you are doing with Renteria and Jeter on your team. Maybe you have a different format than me, but if you can only play one as a non-utility each week I would strongly consider a trade. Perhaps for someone like Johnny Damon or Carlos Lee.
Looking at HR only and you can start 3 of them then I would start Thomas, Johnson and Jeter....

According to my weekly planner, Renteria scores an 18. Jeter 23. Nick Johnson also 23 and the Big Hurt 22. So I'd bench Renteria cuz he's got the lowest rank (based on opposing pitchers' 2 weeks' OBPA).
Renteria's low score is because of facing Prior, Wood and Zambrano for the first half of the week BUT looking at the second half, he's going against Bale, Harang and... Austin? Has he faced them before? He could go yard against these guys, no? I'm not sure now.
I'd flip a coin between Jeter and Renteria. <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>
