Not sure why Yahoo! is so slow to add to players...but oh well, should be anyday now!

Carlos didn't start, but provided a key hit tonight..
(Even though Julio couldn't hold down a two run lead in the 9th)

Carlos Quentin is now...2 HR's 2 doubles, 6 RBIs in his first 9 AB's...
He is seeing the ball very well right now...
:-D

Will he keep this up...who knows? :-? Watching his work ethic, along with the natural ability at the plate, and in the field...I stil feel he will end up a special major league player!

Carlos Gonzalez he isn't... but hopefully by next year, he Carlos Gonzalez will be a common name for all baseball fans...

DBACKS future OF should be special for years to come!

C.Gonzalez RF
Chris Young CF
Carlos Quentin LF

Hopefully Justin Upton can focus more, and move to 2nd base..I truly feel this is the best spot for his longterm value to the DBacks..
(Thankfully he is so young, and has plenty fo time to work out the kinks, and develop the work ethic needed to live up to his enormous potential..(Justin has MUCH more potential than his broter BJ) Just POTENTIAL is an UGLY word...Has made or broken many a young ball player! :-o

That bein said, it could quite possibly be because he became bored with AAA, but a kid with his makeup and work ethic should not allow that to happen. He's fine and should be the type of player you'd love to have on your team. He's got team leader written all over him. He may never hit .320 or hit 30 homers or swipe 30 bags, but he will be consistent, a fixture in the lineup, a very good defender and an excellent presence on and off the field.

I'm about 80% certain, he became disenchanted with AAA. Note they he got off to a very poor start and had turned it up a notch the last month or so.

Quentin was always compared to Conor Jackson and always came out on top. They competed against each other in the Pac 10 with Quentin playing for Stanford and Jackson for UC Berkeley. They went thru the Arizona system together. Quentin has more power to hit Home Runs, more speed to steal bases and is a much bettter defensive player than Jackson. Jackson is a better contact hitter and will draw more walks, though Quentin offsets the walks by being getting HBP at the rate of 25-30/year.

Jackson got off to a monster start last year flirting with .400 and was called up at mid-season where he was less than impressive.
However, he was handed the starting 1B in the spring while Quentin was told to go back to AAA, where he had already played a full season.

I think that would get to anyone. A poor start was understandable.

any new rumors on Green or Gonzo.
This kid is just one simple pulled hamstring or trade away from a fulltime gig no?

I picked him up since we are going into the trading deadline, so lets pray for the trade, and keep our fingers crossed for the pulled hammy.
