Pre-Season Baseball Publications

I was having a discussion with someone about Hunter Pence and said that one of the more non-baseball america publications had ranked pence as the #1 overall prospect in the minors. does anyone remember what publication this was? or did i just make it up? i would appreciate a link if possible.

hahahahahahaha no, no baseball publication had him at #1. they would be banished from the country if they did.

Firstinning.com had Pence rated as the #1 Astros prospect. Could that have been what he meant?

The highest I saw him overall was Baseball Notebook, who had him ranked #3. Their ratings are always dramatically different than any other site. Not because they are always wrong, but because I think they rely more on statistics than scouting reports and "tools". They had Daric Barton #1. Liriano #23

BN's mid-season top prospects ranking has some choices out of left field: Travis Denker #5, Mike Carp #6. Those aren't organization rankings-- OVERALL!
