Barry has played in 79 games...Pujols has played in 80.
One fewer....we look for reasons to put down Barry Bonds...even if they dont exist.
He is more fragile than he used to be...but he is still the best player on his team and one of the best in the majors.
Would I sign him to a 10 year contract...no...but who would I want right now in an important game....not many more than Barry.
Those are 2 completely different issues. I agree that he is still a very feared hitter. I never doubted that. I am just saying that age, injuries, and lack of overall production relative to other seasons say that this isn't really a good season for Bonds. Are you really trying to compare his stats this season to Pujols??
For that matter, I wouldn't mind Bernie Williams up in a big game. Doesn't mean that he's having a great season, though.
