B. Wickman just traded to the Braves! New closer?

Looks like Bobby Cox is still trying to nab a decent closer for the final half of the season. Just heard about this sport radio here in Atlanta.

Stats not looking too bad...

15 saves but he is also 1 and 4 with Cleveland this year.

Atlanta traded class A Catcher Max Ramirez for wickman

Good move or not? I've never really followed wickman but he has an impressive career 229 saves.

here is an article i just found on it

Wickman will obviously be the closer for Altlanta now, and Carmona is the closer for Cleveland.

Bob Wickman is a better option for the surging Braves as the closer than Ken Ray or Jorge Sosa and lets not forget about the injuried Chris Reitsma experiment. The Braves are clearly going for the wild card and they didnt have to give up much to acq the rental player from the Indians.
