Always a chance, but no one else in the Brewers bullpen is pitching well either. Earlier in the season he had troubles, then he came back and did some good things. Just streaky, I guess, but I would assume he has the closer's job for the rest of the season. The manager seems to have a lot of confidence in him and wants to keep him there.

His slider is flatter than my sister and any big leaguer can hit a 96 MPH fastball if they know it's coming.

Capellan has done well and I have heard rumors that he is their "closer of the future."

What that means is he will have one good year and disappear into oblivion like all Brewers closers.
Basically I'm complicated.
I have a hard time taking the easy way
I wouldn't call it schizophrenia
But Ill be at least two people today

If that's OK

And I can go on, and on, and on...

But who cares?

Unfortunately, it's become Turn-blow time lately.

No talk around here yet about any changes in the closer role.

A flat slider, as stated before, is his biggest problem. He just needs to work that out and he will be fine. No one in the pen is challenging him, so he should be due for a hot streak once he gets the slider straightened out. Also, when penny was throwing 96-99 in the all star game, I think he threw a total of 3 breaking balls, and hitters couldn't keep up, beside vlad, who can hit anything anywhere, so you cna get by with just a filthy fastball, look at mo, he gets by with his cutter.

Does anyone else remember that huge thread about him last year??? And what has happened to the pitching coach god Mike Maddux? Turnbow and Bush have been disappointments. Joe

Check out closer watch in Baseball Leftovers. Also, Turnbow has now been officially relieved of closer duties.
