Every year at the end of August there is a baseball tournament held called the Grand Forks International. It is known as the largest invitational baseball tournament in Canada. Some great players have played at this tournament such as Josh Beckett, John Olerud, and Larry Walker. In total there are about 24 GFI alumni that are playing or have played in the major league. This year there are 12 teams coming: Trail, Seattle, Reno, San Diego, Lewiston, Caldwell, Burnaby, Mexico, Fairfield, Spokane, UBC Thunderbirds, and Los Angeles. Has anyone heard of Tim Lincecum? He got drafted by the San Francisco Giants and he also pitched for Seattle at the GFI (Grand Forks International Baseball tournament).
