You might not find this to be an amusing topic, but as a big follower of the Premiership in England, I found it to be an interesting read about Bill Simmons...jumping on the Tottenham bandwagon. Suppose it's because he found out Osama bin Laden and Fidel Castro root for Arsenal. Who woulda thunk it?
Anyway, it's an interesting primer if you ever considered rooting for an English club.
Personally, I've rooted for Manchester United as a teenager, back when Kung Fu Master, Eric Cantona was playing for them and of course, the highlight had to be the Treble year of 1999 (the best year of European soccer I've seen by far, in England and in Europe). But I suppose it was an 11 year-old phase, but I liked Leeds United before jumping to Man U, and yeah, it was the Cantona factor, jumping from Leeds to Man U. That's why some of my soccer die-hard buddies raise an eyebrow when I say I have an affinity for Leeds. I've always been a Barcelona fan though. I get a lot of flack because my English uncle is a long-time Chelsea fan, my last ex-girlfriend is a die-hard Arsenal fan, my best friend is a hardcore West Ham fan, and another one is a Liverpool fan. Sheesh.
