Last I heard the timetable for his return was still indefinete.

That means a couple of more weeks at least, likely more.

from rotoworld:

Mark Mulder (shoulder) did some light throwing drills from the mound Friday.
"His inflammation and his irritation have subsided," trainer Barry Weinberg said. "He's not working through the stages of returning to pitching, through the pitching plan. It's not a rehab for the injury as much as a pitching plan to get his techniques and mechanics and arm strength for throwing back."

Mark Mulder will have an MRI taken today of his troublesome shoulder and may shut things down for the season, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "There's still something going on," Mulder said. "I'm obviously not right out there." He lasted only 1 2/3 innings last night after giving up five runs on six hits.

Watching him throw I still think it is a matter of mechanics / in his head and not a physical injury. Either way I don't see him pitching again this year. His velocity hasn't increased at all and now he is having trouble throwing strikes. There are only 4 weeks left and the Cards can't afford to be giving away any more games letting Mulder work it out.

Mark Mulder will seek a second medical opinion this week before deciding whether to undergo surgery on his troublesome left shoulder, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "It's a possibility now. Before I didn't think it was," Mulder said. "Over the next couple days we'll determine if I need that or not." Regardless, he appears unlikely to pitch again this season. Anthony Reyes appears to be most likely to start Sunday in place of Mulder.
