Figgins is nothing but a one category player. His runs are good but nothing to brag about, Hr and Rbi's stink. fairly low AVG and OBP

all he does for you is steal bases, and i personally think you can find guys who can do that and post better numbers than overated Figgins.

he was top 10 in runs last year...that's nothing to brag about?

the fact that he is a 3 cat (.290 and 100+ runs sucks all of a sudden?) player is already figured into his late 3rd round draft position average. if he stole 60 bases and also hit 30 hr and got 120 rbi he would be a consensus top 3 pick...if did not have multi-position eligibility, especially 2b, he would probably go a round or two later.

aside from soriano and MAYBE utley, nobody has been better than fig at 2b.

I guess my poiint is that the correlation of runs and sb is much higher for a speedster than the HR, RBI, Runs correlation is for a power guy. If you agree with that, then power guys become more valuable intrinsiclly. If you don't, you'll have a different view.

Personally, I have Reyes and Crawford on several of my teams. I have pods on one too (where I could get him late - 8th round). Otherwise, I've maintained that weighting where power is more reliable than speed in the early rounds (although I love guys who have something of both and that is who I focus on).

My view on him:

I traded Loretta and Garland (two players who were basically useless for him). All he does for me is steal bases, this has allowed me to dump Podsednik, and have a much better OF.

even Iguchi all are about are better or equal overall to you loved Figgins and most come at a much cheaper price.

keep him on your pedestol, while others get just as much at 2B while you glory over Chone.

But none of those guys match Figgins SB total, which is why he was drafted (or at least why he should've been drafted). And he was drafted to not hurt your team average, though he's doing his best to prove that wrong this year.
