He has been stinking for a while now. Whats his deal?

Dump him. He is hitting less than .240 over the past month.

I dropped him about a week ago and picked up Scott Podsednick (MIL) as my 4th OF/Util, who is swinging a ridiculously hot bat and also stealing bases. I consider him a great late season find. ;-D

I defended him a month ago (he DID break out for about a week afterwards), but at best he's a bench or fill-in guy.

I'm close to dumping. Jay Payton and Trot Nixon just hit the WW, so I'm pretty tempted. If they clear waivers, I'll grab one and set Matos free. I do have him playing Monday, so GO LUIS! ONE MORE TIME! 3-5 with a HR and SB!

Scouts say Matos will be a fine fielding .280-.290, 20 HR, 25 SB kind of guy when he healthy and plays a full year.

He's not a .330 hitter. And neither, for that matter, is Melvin Mora.

Must be those crabcakes.

Anyone read in TSN that some Orioles think Mora is faking the extent of his injury to stay out of the lineup to protect his average in a contract year.

It's in the paper -- it must be true.

I already dumped him myself and he doesn't seem to have many favorable matchups in the coming weeks.

I'm still going to hold onto matos... I guss it depends on who you have in your league... #2 for an AL team is a decent batting spot and if the guys behind him can hit he should remain at least an average hitter. I see him moving into the #3 batthing spot on occasion as well.
