yo guys, i've been in first for about 3 weeks now. i just traded liriano for david wright. how does my team look now? is there anywhere i can improve and what would you do to my team if you were the manager? i also have an empty roster spot now, who should i pick up?

Definitely a good move getting Wright for Liriano.

As for your empty roster spot, I think Shields would be a nice fit, since the rest of your staff is pretty solid.

The only improvements I would try would be at 1B and/or one of your Util spots. You could try to package some steals or one of your starters for one more solid bat. You probably won't be able to pull off another Liriano/Wright deal, but you might go after a Delgado/Tex type at 1B if you can get them at good value.

First off, I would grab shields. Basically the best setup man there is in the game. He will anchor your receiving core and be a boost on any SPer's off-days. I would also look into benching Furcal and play Lugo. JL is so hot right now that he is unbenchable. Until Furcal breaks out of this, I think you should bench him. Also, See if you can trade Sexson, cantu, and/or furcal for a better 1B and 2B. They aren't great players to start with, but you could find the right sucker to pull off a trade with.

I really like that trade for you in this Non-keeper league, You get a much more consitent player - Or a proven player. Plus, your SP is fine without Liriano. With that roster spot, I would pick up shields for now and watch the trading deadline action like a hawk. Guys like Linebrink could be the "savior" for other team's closer woes.

You really need help at 1B and you need another closer, as Benitez simply will not cut it. I would dangle Jered Weaver out there, as his value is sky high (unless the other owners in your league are worried about his health). I would dangle him out there to upgrade one of those positions (if you are really lucky you might get help at both positions for him).

Since this is a non-keeper league, I'd unload Lidge while he still has value. You can get a lot for him right now. The guy is spiraling out of control.

Good deal getting Wright. I would look at getting rid of Lidge - I just dont thing he is the dominant guy he was - hitters have figured him out.
