Guys- how is 'replacement level' calculated for the purposes of stats like WARP and VORP?

BP uses .736 times the Positional average. A team of replacement players should score/allow enough runs to be team with a .351 Winning Percentage. Different places tend to use different lines but they are often very similar to BP's.
