Ed Rogers ripped a two-run homer in the fifth inning to send visiting Ottawa to a 4-2 victory over Rochester on Saturday.
Rogers' third roundtripper of the season came right after Val Majewski tripled off starter Matt Garza to halve the SkyChiefs' lead. Majewski sent a line drive to center field that scored Andy Tracy, who went 2-for-3 for the Lynx (47-48).
Majewski added an infield single that scored Tracy in the ninth.
The Red Wings (53-41) grabbed the lead in the second on Tommy Watkins' RBI single. Garrett Jones' solo homer in the fourth made it 2-0.
Ottawa starter Brian Burres (9-4) gave up two runs on four hits in seven innings to earn the win. He struck out six and walked two. Franklyn Gracequi pitched the eighth and Julio Manon struck out one in the ninth for his International League-leading 21st save.
Garza (0-1) pitched well in his Triple-A debut but took the loss. He gave up three cheap runs on five hits and two walks while fanning five in seven innings.
The 22-year-old right-hander combined to go 11-3 with a 2.04 ERA in 18 starts for Class A Advanced Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain. --Tim Leonard/MLB.com
