I dont understand the basis for it. He's a pretty pure hitter, and to say he's fallen out of favor because of defensive lapses is ridiculous. Rich Aurilia starting over him doesnt give them the best chance to win IMO. Anyone know what gives here? He's recovered from a bruised ankle already and hit well in his first game back. Why has he lost his job? He's sitting again today. :-t

why royce clayton? there's not much sense to it.

i mean, the company line is "better defense," but i think truthfully that narron's falling into the trap of trying to keep everyone happy.

(and that makes me sad)

2 hits today and batting in the 4 hole.

He will get his gig back sooner or later. No way Rich Aurila stays healthy much longer.

He may not handle the ball as well as Aurillia but the guy has amazing range, good arm and athleticism and has all the tools to be a defensive superstar given time and experience too.

I don't get this one. :-t

A number of reasons contribute to why EE isn't an everyday starter.

1. Narron - The man hates to have the same lineup more than once in a season.

2. The reds have one of the deepest benches in the league. Aurilia has been quite productive the last few seasons.

3. Aurilia can play SS every once in a while, but word is he's reached that age where his body can break down if he's pushed too hard.

4. Hatteberg magically started hitting lefties to there's no Aurilia/Hatte platoon at first.

5. It would be my guess that EE is still a little banged up.

Any update on what in the world is going on here? i'd like to move on, but I'm in a very deep league, but this has gotten beyond ridiculous. I'm feeling that he is not all the way back, yet, there are ZERO stories on him anywhere in like the last 2 weeks. Any info please!

I know he's coming back from that injury, but this bench assignment has me baffled. Did he piss someone off?
