Rumor: Abreu to Boston for Trot Nixon...

Okay, I've heard the rumor in the past and it has never happened. But they were mentioning it on talk radio here in RI, and I was just wondering what people think this would do for Abreu's fantasy value if it were to happen...

the rumor is that if boston acquires abreu, they are demanded the phils take trot's contract back...theres not way the phils take just trot in an abreu deal...also, you should ask this in the trade rumor section in the leftovers...

I agree that Abreu for Nixon straight up makes no sense. If the Phils deal Abreu they're tossing in the towel and will building for the future. How in the world does Nixon help with that?

Nixon is a FA and it would clear Abreu's enormous contract off the books for the Phillies, that is where it would help, by taking away the $12 mill or whatever is owed to Abreu.
