Durazo signed by the Twins

Postby Havok1517 » Fri Jul 14, 2006 8:23 pm

Twins signed designated hitter Erubiel Durazo to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Rochester.
A very good move for the Twins. Durazo may not return to being the middle-of-the-order force he was for the A's two years ago, but he could give Minnesota's offense a boost even if he's just a part-time player. He should get a chance in a couple of weeks if he hits for Rochester. Jul. 14 - 6:39 pm et

I like this deal. The Twins need offense and Durazno isn't that old still.

yeah, and he was a good signing when the rangers signed him to a minor league deal and released him, and when the yankee's signed and released him.
i just dont know that the guy has much left in him, though he is recovering from tj surgery.

This is his 3rd minor league team this year, no team has seen enough out of him to call-up in Texas or NYY. Not sure how much Durazo has left, esp when a team that you would think is desperate for a ML bat like the Yanks dont call you up.

whats strange is the rangers really were hoping to get him into the lineup when he got healthy, but his contract had an opt out if he wasnt on the big league roster by x date, i'm wondering if he had the same thing with the yankee's. the guy must truely think he can contribute to a major league team this year, or just can't accept that he isnt the player he once was.
