Orioles optioned RHP Daniel Cabrera to Triple-A Ottawa.
Adam Loewen will replace him in the rotation. We're surprised it's Cabrera and Sendy Rleal, not Bruce Chen, taking the fall for Thursday's debacle. Cabrera's 5.25 ERA isn't very good, but there plenty of AL starters with worse marks. Rodrigo Lopez (6.77) is one. It can't be a good sign that the Orioles think the Triple-A coaching staff has a better shot at turning Cabrera around than Leo Mazzone does. Should Baltimore make him available in trade talks, there will be a great deal of interest.

And Adam Loewen is coming back up. Don't know how much fantasy value he would have but there you go

And I don't think the Orioles will deal Cabrera unless it's a massive overpayment. The guy has so much talent that it might be better to crash and burn with him than trade him and seeing him flourish elsewhere.
