Well, if the Sox rolled out three consecutive WS championships or something like that, I could see him getting in that way. I sure hope THAT doesn't happen though!

That'd be more of a case in which he would get in, but not should get in.

That is very true and I guess the closest example to that is Jeter. While his avg to below avg defense and stats aren't THAT impressive, all the winning on a big stage would get him in (but it probably shouldn't). Once he hits 3000, I think he is a lock.

This isn't who I think should be locks but who I think are locks for the writers vote.

Hitters: Bonds, Sosa, Piazza, Manny, A-Rod, Griffey, Bagwell, Biggio, I-Rod, Jeter, Alomar, and Larkin

Pitchers: Maddux, Clemens, Pedro, RJ, Glavine, Schilling, Smoltz, Hoffman and Rivera

Larkin and Alomar are active???

The recent threads of HOF discussion got me thinking who are the active or very recently retired (last two years) who are no doubt about it mortal locks for the HOF if they retired today (or two years ago).
