Ensberg to the DL

Postby converge241 » Thu Jul 13, 2006 11:41 pm

Astros placed third baseman Morgan Ensberg on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday, with a right shoulder contusion.
A much better idea than relegating him to pinch-hitting duty, which is what they said they'd do prior to Thursday's game. Ensberg will get a chance to find his swing in Triple-A, and there's a good chance he'll be back in 15 days. In the meantime, Aubrey Huff will be the everyday third baseman. Luke Scott was called up to take Ensberg's place on the roster. Jul. 13 - 11:07 pm et

might be worthwhile to add and stash him if he can turn it back on in a rehab stint huff can always play the OF

as per Rotoworld:

Manager Phil Garner said Friday that he doesn't expect Morgan Ensberg (shoulder) to return from the disabled list when he's eligible Tuesday.
The Houston Chronicle reports that "Ensberg isn't sure if he'll be ready to come off the DL any time soon," which makes the chances of the Astros trading him slim. Jul. 22 - 10:16 am et

Mike Lamb's less than stellar play with the bat since the ASB has given Mogan Ensberg an opening to regain his 3B job in Houston with Huff moving across the diamond to 1B imo.

Is this your opinion or a quote from someone? I'm guessing it's your opinion (hence the imo at the end), but I hope you're right!

Not looking good for Ensberg. He could be out into August at some point, and may have to go on a rehab assignment.
