Should he be dropped? Or should we chalk it up to facing the best-hitting team in baseball? Those 7 walks in 2 2/3 innings are what scares me.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
In a keeper league, you pretty much have to hang on to him no matter what. In a non-keeper, unless there are great options on the wire, I would bench him for his next start against Baltimore and see how he does. If he is awful again against Baltimore, he's probably droppable. If he pitches OK, I'd then start him against Tampa Bay.

i say keep him even if ur not in a keeper league. I mean he was up against Boston. I mean it's almost a given to bench a pitcher when they are up against the Yankees and the same thing should be for the number 1 hittin team in the AL. So im gonna give him another chance to redeem himself then if not.. i might consider droppin him for im not in a keeper league
Kind of a Freddy Garcia situation ... can you tolerate a high level of inconsistency.
I dumped him in my non-keeper.
There has been a lot of talk about Harden tipping his pitches. That's something that you don't "unlearn" over night without an impact on your mechanics.
Also, Oakland doesn't have a cakewalk of a schedule the rest of the year. He might get 1-2 more relatively easy starts.

I'd definitely let him go in a non-keeper if he gets torched in his next outing.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
