When I saw that the lost an OF and a middle-guy, I initially thought that Freel would have more of a steady job (if his body can even handle a full time job).
However, I still don't see a lot more room for him. Sure he can spell Griffey every now and then, pinch run, and get the occasional start at 3b/2b..but the reds still have a glut of 2b/3b and even SS types. Guessing Clayton is the new fulltime SS(GULP) and not much else changes?
Reds fans help me out!
Thanks!

I'd say if he doesn't start now than all Reds management should be taken out to the woodshed.

rotoworld chimes in with:
With Austin Kearns gone to Washington, Ryan Freel might become the Reds' starting right fielder.
Hopefully, the club will call up Chris Denorfia to pair with him. If that's how they choose to play it, the downgrade in right field won't be as significant as the loss at shortstop. The extra at-bats should make Freel an asset in shallow mixed leagues again. Denorfia is worth grabbing in NL-only leagues. Jul. 13 - 4:16 pm et

It appears to me the Nats and Bowden just did that to them!

thanks ! Definitely have to keep an eye on this situation.
Someone just balked at a Freel/Edmonds 1-1 deal yesterday (they're last in saves) and they just called me up at reprosed deal.

Very difficult to understand this deal from the Reds' perspective.
