Highly doubtful. The Reds front office is very high on Guardado. It would be his job to lose and I expect them to give him a lot of rope with which to hang himself.

I'm cautiously optimistic on Guardado. Moving from Safeco to the Great American Launching Pad might hurt his numbers even more. That said, I agree with The Lovable Losers. Guardado will be his own savior or executioner here. I think Majewski was an awesome setup guy for Chad C, but he's not the typical high-K closer guy (see Brad Lidge or K-Rod). However, look at what Aki Otsuka did with Texas. A guy who doesn't strike out many people coming in to set up a flamethrower closer steps in and runs with the closing job. I hope Majewski gets a chance if (when?) Guardado bursts into flames. Don't grab him yet, cause he won't be handed the keys to the CL right now, but keep a close eye on the situation

Seems like this trade has big implications if your league counts holds (as mine does, even with saves).

All teams in leagues that count holds should rush to pick up Jon Rauch.

Probably Weathers stock goes way down. So does Todd Coffee. Majewski's value obviously goes way up, but I wouldn't totally dismiss Bill Bray as an option too. He could be the Reds closer-in-waiting.

Eddie may not be the best fit at closer, but I can't see Majewski getting it over him.
