Backe, Greinke, Eaton: Any DL pitchers could shine 2nd half?

With numerous pitchers currently on the DL just about ready to come off, are there any you would pick up now for the second half of the season. Greinke has looked good his last couple of minor league starts but he does play with KC. Backe and Eaton play in hitter's ball parks. Is there anyone else you would target to get before someone else grabs him?

Lieber if you can get him. His numbers look horrible -- but all of his skill numbers are in line with his historical norms. He had about the worst "strand rate" luck of any pre-AS Break NL pitcher. And he is typically a better second half pitcher. Based on his numbers, Baseball Forcaster has him at an expected ERA of 3.60 for the remainder of '06. At minimum the guy throws a 1.2 WHIP in his sleep.

I don't have really an answer to your question as much as letting you know that Greinke came off the DL a few weeks back..so right now he's just NA as far as yahoo is concerned.

With that said - he has some talent...it's whether or not he can control his other issues (which I've never really been certain if it was emotional or other things)....with that said, if he does come back strong - I see no reason to ignore him because he plays on the Royals..

I don't expect anything from Greinke. I pitcher with "issues" who plays for KC just really seem worthy of a pickup to me.

Adam Eaton is a guy i'm going to keep an eye on. It's hard to say how he'll pitch in Arlington, but he could make a decent pickup.

Another guy to consider is Mike Maroth. He's still probably a few weeks away, but he'll have a good offense behind him. Take out his last pre-surgury start (0.1 IP, 3HR, 6ER against KC ) and his numbers were pretty good.

Tomo Ohka might be worth considering as well.

None of these are going to be huge pickups, but they might have fantasy value in the second half.
