He got roughed up during his last two outings. Is he still considered a top tier closer?

Was he ever considered a "top tier closer"? I think he'll contiue to put up good numbers, and he's only really gotten rocked once this year.

He was always second tier to me. Top tier is like Wagner, K-Rod, Rivera, Gordon, Ryan, Nathan.

No Fuentes was never top-tier. Last year was his emergence onto the closer scene. OK he gets a nice amount of K's but his control makes him pretty shaky if you ask me. He's still a solid 2nd tier closer though.

Keep an eye on him -- his FB rate is at a career-high level -- one that would be dangerous even at Commeria but is positively brutal in Coors. Small sample size, but as last week's implosion shows, little things add up if you only throw a few inning a week.

He was never a top tier closer. He's a solid #2 IMO. I'm not worried about him, he was pitching over his head a bit in the first month or 2 of the season. He should be solid down the stretch.
