Mulder placed on 15 day DL

Don't count Oakland out just yet because Mulder's on the DL. They have a tough 4-game series in Toronto, which would have been one start by Mulder, but then they have 12 versus Baltimore and Tampa Bay. Oakland is 2-1 vs. Tampa Bay so far and 3-0 vs. Baltimore this season. If they do well during that stretch and get Mulder back when they play the Mariners, Rangers, and Angels, they should be fine. Having Mulder for the last 6 games they play against the Mariners is more important than against Baltimore and Tampa Bay.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
