not having to face newyork/boston/toronto all the time will probably help. (Granted milwaukee/cincinati have some surprisingly good pitching this year)

the Astro's cant score, but it is a hitters park so maybe it'll give his numbers a boost
also, is it good/bad for batters to switch leagues?
It sure did nothing but boost Randy Winn's value last year when he came over to the NL. I honestly can't think off the top of my head of any other moderately big-name bats over the past few years though.

I too am surprised that the Astros didn't give up more for Huff especially if the DRays are picking up a big chunk of his remaining salary (as rumored).
I really like this deal for the Astros...they had to do something and from the looks of it didn't have to give up too much to do so.

yeah i think 1.6 mill or something..
too bad.. really wanted to see the rays get something better than that in return
Can think of any big name bats over the past few years?! There's this guy named Carlos Beltran that went over to Houston from the Royals in 2004. Played only 90G for them, helped them get to the playoffs, hit 8 HR in the post season...
That being said, this thread is not about Beltran, but Huff. I think he'll help that anemic offense, but won't be the difference maker that Beltran was.

Zobrist is solid but moved along too slowly, don't know too much about Talbot, ks 1 per inning this year in Corpus Cristi(AA) but also gave up more than 1 hits per inning. Don't know what to think about it. But I think he's just another mediocre arm in the Rays' system.
Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.
vladrules wrote:Yes!!!!!!!!!!! I just added him in hopes of him going to LAA or DET. HOU is just fine by me. Huff has been great in interleague games so hopefully that means that he'll enjoy hitting in the NL.
Is Minute Maid good for left handed hitters??
Minute maid from all I've heard is a big hitter's park for RHH, but extremely tough on lefty batters.

Meh! I was wanting more then that, but Zobrist is an interesting pickup. He seems to have good speed and is solid defensively, so I wonder if he is the guy that moves Upton off of SS and over to 3rd base. I think this trade might be the writing on the wall for Upton to step it up and be prepared to slide over.
As far as Huff in Houston, I wish him the best of luck and hope he can help jump start the Astros offense.
