Garza or Adenahart...?

Who is better now and who is going to be better later?

Garza is better now, as he has proven more at a higher level but Adenhart was a more highly touted prospect until "maybe" this year since Garza has been pitching so well.

Garza was a college draftee and Adenhart was a HS draftee


Adenhart is 19 and in A ball and pitching very well

When Garza was 19 he was getting torched in college.

It looks like Adenhart may have slightly more upside but you can't ignore what Garza is doing now at a higher level. I like them both and have them pretty much side by side in my rankings.


One other thing is that Adenhart has had Tommy John surgery but it seems as if that is past him now..... we'll see.

Adenhart has a little more upside.

However, the Twins rotation is Santana, Liriano and mediocrity.
Garza has a good chance of starting next year.

The Angels have the other Santana, Lackey, the good Weaver and Escobar tied up for 3 years minimum plus Colon and Saunders (who would be their only lefty and is doing really well in a hitter's league in AAA).
Adenhart is 3 years away.

I'd much rather have Garza now. Adenhart has upsides(was touted as high as Homer Bailey went drafted) but he's still far away from the majors and he had TJ a couple years ago.
