On any of the signs that I pass by it usually says the town name follwowed by 'Lanes' or 'Bowl'. I haven't heard center though and have always thought it was alley.
Same here. Most titles of the centers have lanes in the title, Like Don Carter All-Star Lanes. Just in general conversation and print media, they are called centers.
Interesting that "alley" is still used so much in so many places. Learn something new everyday.
