Ditto.

On any of the signs that I pass by it usually says the town name follwowed by 'Lanes' or 'Bowl'. I haven't heard center though and have always thought it was alley.

Not for nothing, but the "lanes" in my hometown are simply called The Bowl-o-Mat. Been that name forever. I found a pic of the place online.

(Oh, and it's Candlepin, not tenpin, Mad... gotta come up to New England and check out OUR style of bowling, dude. ;-D

I don't think Mad would have a problem with this. I'm sure his bowling shirt has a built in holster.

Same here. Most titles of the centers have lanes in the title, Like Don Carter All-Star Lanes. Just in general conversation and print media, they are called centers.

Interesting that "alley" is still used so much in so many places. Learn something new everyday. ;-D

We call them alleys around here, but I think they're 'lanes' on the buildings.

Actually Mad wanted to say that he grew up and is now hanging out on fantasy sites, so the problem went away. :-b
