One of our local centers here was a big hangout for kids. Around a decade ago, it wasn't unusual to hear (or even see) one kid shoot another kid in the parking lot.
They brought off duty policemen as security guards, and that's no longer a problem anymore.
Kings Point bowling alley
Someone needs to tell the author that bowling centers are no longer referred to as an "alley", and haven't been in quite some time.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

They're called that here. Are you sure it's not regional.

Same. What are they called now, Mad?
For those professional bowlers and "those in the know," they do not refer to a bowling stadium as a mere "alley." Only us casual bowlers and sportswriters call it an "alley."

I haven't seen a bowling alley in Texas in a very long time. They are all referred to as "centers" down here. All print media, newspapers, etc. Even the PBA tour on television that travels all over the country doesn't mention a single "alley", ever. Always centers, not alleys, so I'd say it's not a regional thing, but I've been wrong before, and I'll be wrong again, so who knows. Just looked funny that the author said "alley" a whole bunch of times and I don't know of any publication that still calls them alleys. Was a blast from the past.
