Lollapalooza?

I was wondering if anyone here had ever been or had heard any stories from people who had been? Or even a large music festival in general, because I've never been to a big concert, just local shows around where I live. I just bought tickets yesterday to this years show and am wanting to know how crazy it is.

It should be a good time, some of the groups I want to see - Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, Queens of the Stone Age, The Raconteurs, The Flaming Lips, Common, Matisyahu, Wolfmother, The Subways, The Editors, Sonic Youth, My Morning Jacket, and The New Pornagraphers!

I was talking w/ a buddy of mine about this via email last week and the whole list of bands = 82 acts (so far...) so either you will only be able to see maybe 1/10 bands or they will have to do some sort of Vegas review w/ each act playing a 5 min set before they whisk them off for the next act. I'm sure it would be fun but I would question the value of putting so much into one show.

typically big festivals like this will have 2,3 or 4 stages going at once, so you better hope two of your fav bands arent playing at once.

I went to bonnarroo in TN a few years back.

it was pretty cool... hot as hell but fun.

Lots of dirty smelly hippies.

Is it a camping thing??
