I've read a couple of items about this guy in the Mariners system... he's a converted SS learning to play CF, and seems to be one of those "toolsy" type players. Anyone know anything else about him? Is he a legit prospect? Thanks!
The buzz is that he's the best hitting prospect to come along for the Mariners since AROD. But he's at least 1 year away from being MLB ready offensively and defensively.

Works for me! We have minor leaguers in my keeper league. I just drafted him, and sounds like it was a good move, based on that buzz. Thanks!
A lot of his elite prospect status is because of his defense. He is no where near as high of an elite fantasy prospect because his offense is not as good as his defense [is supposed to be.] He could and probably will hit for a decent average, hit for some power, and steal some bases. Should be an above-average CFer.
I think he was hitting around .278 in AAA, not great, yet not horrible. But hey, the kid is only 20 years old and has made it the the bigs already, that's moving quick.

Probably brought him up to early, but he does have some very good tools. He is getting mentioned in trade talks with Washington for Soriano. I doubt they trade him, but that would suck to go from one terrible hitters park to another.
