Just got this off the Yahoo game notes.

WASHINGTON PITCHER JOHN PATTERSON LEFT THE GAME IN THE TOP OF THE SECOND INNING DUE TO A RIGHT FOREARM STRAIN

I haven't seen anything about him being out for the rest of the year. That would seem a bit extreme, considering there are 80-something games remaining.

I was watching the game on TV, and I was actually pretty impressed that he managed to get out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam, and while injured at that. I guess all we can do is hope he can work things out. And go on the DL so I can free up a spot!

From Rotoworld:

John Patterson left Sunday's game in the second inning with a right forearm strain.
It's the same injury that had Patterson on the DL for two months, though there's likely more going on with his elbow than what the Nationals know about or are admitting. If he goes back on the DL, the Nationals can replace him with Tony Armas Jr. after the break. Jul. 9 - 2:23 pm et
