He came into the restaraunt my dad was working at, and my dad asked him politely as he was leaving.. Jackson said no, and my dad said "Well.. thanks for the memories." (not sarcastically), to which Jackson said "Got a pen?"
Well its not mine but its in my house. Babe Ruth's signature on a baseball. It's pretty cool, I mean I never knew baseballs aged so much.
My personal favorite is nomar's signature on a baseball. I got it I think in 2000 before a yankees game. It was really a contest of who could stick the ball out the farthest, so my friend held onto my legs while I was almost over the wall . To top it off the red sox won!
Steve Garvey autographed baseball, he's a good friend of my brother's.
Picutre of me as a kid with Mickey Mantle Autographed junior bat
autographed home plate from legends field, signed by rivera and pettite
and my most prized item, sitting utop the mantle at home
An autographed Babe Ruth game used bat, given to my dad by my grandfather and to me by my dad
when i was a senior in high school, billy wagner, who went to my school, came and practiced with us while the strike was going on... he gave me and the other lefty on the team gloves he used... the one he gave to the other guy was a neumann, pretty much broken in, but the one he gave me was a brand new wilson conform with "WAGS" #13 stitched on it... i'm sure it's probably not worth much and i'd never sell it, but it's pretty cool to have...

I was into collecting autographs for a number of years and two things stand out among my collection.
A home plate with close to 150 signatures of Yankee players. There is a mixture of HOFers, most of the 77 and 78 team, slew of guys from 90's World Series teams and, unless your a Yankee fan, a lot of guys you never heard of that played in the 30 through the 60s.
Second item is a 11X14 autographed photograph of Dimaggio, Mantle, Martin and Ford at a 80's Old Timers day. The photo was given to me already signed by Billy and I got the rest of the signatures myself. While getting Mantle to sign it was a treat nothing tops my experience with Joe D. When I presented the photo to Dimaggio to be signed, this was right after Mantle passed, he stared at it for at least a minute and was almost in tears. He said "this brought back a lot of memories kid. thanks for bringing this today." He then wanted to shake my hand.
Something I will never forget.
