Garrett Anderson is getting gimpy, Vlad ain't a kid anymore, between that and the DH spot, I see Rivera basically getting a starters # of at bats. and he'll likely be hitting 5th or 6th.

Over the last 3 seasons: .287 hitter with 20 homers/season (carried out to 162 games played), though he's hitting them more frequently this year. He has broken double digits in homers 3 straight years.

Came up with the Yanks...and properly earned the nickname of "Golf Cart" for managing to injure himself by running into a parked golf cart on the field during batting practice in 2002 and subsequently lost a chance to start and earn a job.

Rivera could be a great second half sleeper. "If" someone on the Angels gets injured and he gets more playing time.

Don't think there is gonna be an "if" "if" he keeps this up...2 more HRs tonight...yikes...(and yesterday 2 doubles, for 1 RBI, and 2 R)...now if I can figure out a trade to make room for him...I just offered Tex and Beckett for Halladay...do I throw in Thames, and pick up Rivera? Or maybe Thames, Johnson, and Beckett?

I know 2 years ago pre-season John Benson included this guy on his 25 with experience up and comers and said if given the opportunity that this guy would become something special.

Seems that his chances have been spotty or limited. He has always had good numbers and has been considered a top 100 prospect in the past.

I think this is the year he proves whether he deserved all the attention or is an average major leaguer.

Lately he has displayed his talent and bounced back from injury earlier this year. I think he is the real deal and could have 4 or 5 really solid years.

He hit another homer today.

The most amusing stat about him is his 1 SB last year to go along with 9 CS.

He's averaging a .322 post All-Star batting average for the past 3 years. Should be money from here on out.

Who is J Rivera?

J Rivera is the guy I drafted in the 21st round who stunk so badly that his own coach kept benching him so I had to drop him but has now come on like gangbusters on someone else's team. :~(
